The Hills School at Northmead, is a caring and supportive learning community providing quality educational programs for students with a diverse range of learning needs, from Kindergarten to Year 12. The Hills School caters for 109 students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, which may include physical disabilities, sensory impairments or Autism Spectrum Disorder. 61% of students have a language background other than English and 5% of our students identify as Aboriginal. The school has modern, specialised assistive technologies and state-of-the-art facilities including a heated indoor pool. In addition, numerous attractive, well-resourced and engaging playgrounds provide for a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment. The school has established links with partner primary and high schools and has a proud tradition of promoting student participation and inclusion in the arts, sport and leadership initiatives. Student achievement is rewarded and widely celebrated. The Hills School prizes its parents and caregivers as key partners in their child’s education. Highly skilled and caring staff are guided by an inclusive, collaborative ethos ensuring a shared vision and approach to rich, individualised teaching and learning programs. The Hills School strives to establish and maintain quality community partnerships that benefit all involved.
