Lithgow Public School has a current enrolment of 400 students inclusive of 10% Aboriginal students and 7% EALD students. The school has a rich history and is highly regarded in the Lithgow Community. Lithgow is situated in a picturesque valley at the bottom of the Blue Mountains and is a 2-hour drive from Sydney and a 40-minute drive from either Katoomba or Bathurst.
The school is highly inclusive and has a significant Support Unit encompassing five classes. The school is currently a Phase 2 Early Action for Success school and achieved a State award for growth in student learning in 2017. The student is at the centre of strategic planning, staff are highly experienced and skilled in teaching practices, and are committed to ongoing data evaluation and collaborative practices.
The school is committed to the broader engagement of students, with successful gifted and talented, sporting, cultural, citizenship and student wellbeing programs.
Lithgow Public School is an active member of the Lithgow Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.
The school works in partnership with parents, community, local primary and high schools to provide opportunities for all students. The P&C is highly supportive and engaged in working to achieve the schools strategic directions. As a result, the school and its community are committed to the strategic directions as identified in the 2018-2021 School Plan.
