Enter Yarra Valley Water’s exciting initiative: FREE, curriculum-linked classroom incursions! These engaging sessions are exclusively available to primary schools within the Yarra Valley Water service area, catering to students from Prep to Year 6. Through a series of captivating activities and games, the incursions aim to cultivate water-saving knowledge and behaviours amongst primary school students.
Linking directly to the Victorian Curriculum, the incursions educate students on where water comes from, how it’s consumed, and the pivotal role each one of us plays in its preservation.
Meet the Water Watchers - a remarkable team consisting of Welly, Washy, Wade, and Wavy. These intergalactic heroes, having fled their home planet depleted by evil water wasters, have journeyed for light years to Earth. Their mission? Safeguarding our planet’s precious water supply and reminding us why saving water matters. They inspire students with tales of sustainable water use, leaving behind a deep understanding and a desire to join the Water Watchers’ mission to save Earth’s precious water. They’ve already made a difference in over 100 Melbourne schools.

Incursion duration: Each incursion runs for approximately 45 minutes, accommodating a maximum of 30 students per session, with a minimum requirement of 20 students.
Tailored for different year levels: We offer three distinct formats tailored for Prep to Year 2, Years 3-4, and Years 5-6.
Take home a Water Watcher: Every student attending an incursion will receive their very own biodegradable Water Watcher figurine to take home and place proudly on their taps.
