With an interest sparked by her own Cook Islands heritage and personal understanding of the struggles Pasifika children can face in maths classrooms, Jodie Hunter, lecturer at the Institute of Education at Massey University, is helping to shine a light on culturally responsive, strengths-based maths education for Pasifika learners. She spoke to EducationHQ about what this research means for teachers.
