As head of the art department at Christchurch Boys’ High School for more than 25 years, Megan McCormack has seen the evolution of teaching the arts. McCormack began her career in education as a primary school teacher but left to do a three-year design diploma in Christchurch, which set her on the path of high school art teaching – something she discovered she was truly passionate about. She shares her thoughts on her vocation and the place the arts have in schools.
