Position Information

Tuncurry Public School is held in high regard across the local community and is a proud member of the Great Lakes Learning Community. The school is uniquely designed and well equipped, with a heritage dating back to 1881.  It comprises 13 mainstream classes and 4 Multi Categorical (MC) classes (356 enrolments). Tuncurry Public School has 19% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The school's current FOEI is 124.

We have a dedicated staff who are committed to their own professional learning to ensure they are providing the best possible education and opportunities for their students.  The school is also supported by School Learning Support Officers who assist teachers in the delivery of learning programs in literacy and numeracy for improvement in student outcomes and the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour support plans in the classrooms and playground. The school chaplaincy program helps to bring the school and community together by supporting it's physical, social and emotional health.  To further support the education of students, we provide a range of additional curriculum activities including targeted learning support  and high potential and gifted programs.

Parent involvement in the school is highly valued and welcomed.  A strong parental presence assists with running the school canteen, sporting carnivals, uniform shop as well as volunteering in classrooms.
