Position Information

Colyton Public School has an enrolment of 792 students, including 45 who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 70% from a non-English speaking background. Two opportunity classes for high potential and gifted students are based at the school. This diversity provides a rich cultural environment which is celebrated and valued.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Infants with a demonstrated ability to use evidence-based pedagogy and knowledge of the new syllabuses to develop and deliver engaging teaching and learning programs that result in maximum literacy and numeracy growth for all students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop positive class learning environments that enhance individual student engagement and well-being with a proven capability to support a diverse range of students, including those from a non-English speaking background.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work actively and authentically when collaborating with students, staff, and parents to support student outcomes and promote a positive school culture.
  • A commitment to enriching student learning and wellbeing by actively contributing to the provision and support of whole school programs and extra-curricular opportunities for students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
