About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the preparation of Budget Papers and forward estimates process as part of the annual State Budget process.
  • Coordinate and maintain corporate operating and capital budgets and ensuring departmental accounting records and internal controls are accurate and compliant with appropriate legislation and accounting practices.
  • Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials on budget development, financial policy and management issues.
  • Identify and provide advice on strategic resourcing issues that impact on funding, then develop strategies and proposals to address the identified issues.
  • Develop, implement and maintain budget policies, procedures and practices which facilitate and support financial management within the department.
