Arthur Phillip High School is situated in the progressive and rapidly expanding CBD city of Parramatta, bringing an exciting and dynamic energy to the school. The school is culturally diverse and has a student population of 1600 with 91% having English as an additional language or dialect (representing over 40 different cultures). General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 
  • Capacity to lead staff through the current curriculum reform agenda to successfully create contemporary teaching and learning programs, and high quality evaluative and assessment practices.
  • Proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to analyse data and to lead, implement and support whole school priorities and initiatives.
  • Ability and expertise to work as an innovative and dynamic member of a school leadership team in leading initiatives that address whole school strategic directions, including fostering a culture of inclusivity. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead the development and implementation of high-quality Stage 6 teaching and learning programs that support students with complex needs from a diverse range of backgrounds and HPGE students.

      

    Conditions

    An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
