About the Role

The Education Futures Institute (EFI) is a key initiative under the department's Equity and Excellence strategy to empower departmental staff, educators, school and system leaders to build professional expertise through high quality, targeted capability development across their career.

Multiple positions are available in the Communications and Graphic Design team supporting the work of the EFI by developing key communications, learning materials and resources for capability development delivered by the Capability Branch.

The Communications Officer will:

  • Provide professional high quality communications and graphic design services for both print and online publication that support EFI Flagship programs and other Capability Branch deliverables; and
  • Design, plan and produce communications and artwork for publications, brochures, posters, booklets, branding and displays from concept design through to final production stage.
  • Provide technical and creative consultation and advice on matters relating to graphic design and liaise with project teams and individual clients on the design and development of projects.
  • Ensure that corporate identity standards, publishing procedures and the department's visual communications standards are maintained.
    About You

The ideal applicants are individuals who:

  • Have extensive knowledge of communications and design processes and techniques, with intermediate to advanced skills using programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro), Articulate 360, Vyond (Graphic Design).
  • Bring high attention to detail, organisational skills and can bring communication plans to life.
  • Is familiar with the DoE Editorial style guide, Government web publishing style guide and Australian government style manual (Communications).
  • Has a client focus and enjoys working with a diverse team to deliver outcomes and make a positive impact in education.

The Communications Officers reports to the Manager, Governance and Implementation, Capability Branch.
