About the Role:

This role is a a Temporary Full-time position, however, the candidate will be required to do split shifts.

Other suitable duties that we deem are 'camp related maintenance'

  • Responsible for a range of day to day activities that include maintenance of camp site through regular mowing/whipper snippering and undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, quadbike (as per manufacturers' service manuals) and arrange regular services
  • Conduct stocktake of all marine and campsite equipment annually
  • Ensure compliance with WHS requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment, safe storage and handling of chemicals and fuels
  • Assist with a range of duties that include coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish as required
  • Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the campsite including those which relate to facilities and equipment, including generators, camping equipment etc.
  • Set up of campsite prior to student arrival including erecting tents
  • Monitor main water tanks and transfer water to them as required
  • Conduct campsite inductions for all staff, students and visitors
  • Conduct Pest Control
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and eating areas
  • Ensure facility has sufficient power at all times
  • Reporting security, safety, damage concerns to the principal/Business Manager os Schools Officer (Facilities & Grounds)
  • Assist teachers and student with setting up of activities

About You

Key Responsbilities of the role are in the Boat Officer Role Description, however there are mandatory Qualifications required of

  • Blue Card
  • Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) coxswain licence appropriately endorsed for local operations or Master 5 licence
  • A restricted radio operator's certificate of proficiency
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • A 'C' Class drivers licence

Any other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.
