This is an exciting opportunity for young people to work towards a qualification that demonstrates and assess their competencies in a much holistic way, nurturing skills and attributes needed for life long learning, life skills and supported employment.

Date June 19, 2018 - July 3, 2018
Time 9:30am - 2:30pm

Students would typically be working around Levels 1–2 of the NZC and require an adapted curriculum and ongoing support with their learning.

The SPEC programme has over 50 different titles to address individual learning needs of students. The programme and new qualification focuses on the process of learning as much as the end product. This results in students taking more ownership, self managing and becoming more independent learners, improving their ability to relate well to others, and using their communication skills more broadly.

The day will explore both the qualification and the programme, and the requirements for each. There will be a 'hands on' session with the resources, time spent understanding the ethos and principles and lots of practical hints to get started.

Each delegate will receive a set of three complimentary supplements for classroom use, to help implement and the follow the quality assurance procedures.

All refreshments are also included 9.30am–2.30pm.

A professional development session that will excite any teacher or support worker who works alongside students with a range of learning challenges.
