Moving On - UNSW End of Year Dance Show 2017

For the last 21 years, UNSW’s undergraduate dance program nurtured dance artists and dance teachers, filmmakers and choreographers. It was the longest running BA program in dance in NSW and will be sorely missed.

Date November 9, 2017 - November 10, 2017
Time 7:30pm - 9:00pm

For the last 10 years UNSW has been supporting a culture of dance at UNSW, connecting students with the work of professional artists through the UNSW Dance Research Residency Program in collaboration with Critical Path. UNSW became a home to independent dance.

So even though we have to say farewell to the undergraduate teaching of dance at UNSW, we move on into a new iteration of dance through honours and postgraduate study, building on the strong relationships with dancers and arts companies that we have developed.

Join us for two nights of short performances and dance films celebrating dance at UNSW, featuring professional and student works. Celebrate what we have achieved and stay with us as we move into this new phase of art and research, dance and discovery.

Thursday Night

We celebrate 10 years of collaboration with Critical Path and independent dance artists. The UNSW Dance Research Residency Program is in the spotlight on the first night of performances with a special presentation by Clare Hicks, Director of Critical Path.

Friday Night

The second night, it's all about the success of our undergraduate dance program. We welcome back David Spurgeon, who established the dance program 21 years ago, to talk about the history of Dance at UNSW. Its impact will never be forgotten!!
