The workshop will focus on using visuals to build language and speaking and listening skills linked to specific grammatical features such as compound and complex sentences.

Rana Straker’s presentation will focus on developing grammatical knowledge and understanding of students K-6 through talking and listening strategies linked to visual images. Janet Freeman’s presentation will focus on teaching students to write narratives in Stage 3 through the use of visuals and encouraging students to make and discuss specific language choices.
