Digging Deeper into Victorian Collections and Bursary Applications 2016

Apply now for a day of free professional learning at three of Melbourne’s cultural institutions. We are excited to offer a free professional learning event for Victorian teachers. Come and take part in an intensive day of research with teachers and experts from State Library Victoria, Shrine of Remembrance and Melbourne Museum. Digging Deeper into Victorian Collections will include visits to all three venues and will see teachers take part in hands-on experiences of researching and creating.

Bursary Applications:

Teachers from Victorian schools may apply for a bursary to attend this event. The bursary would provide free registration and at least $250 to contribute to travel and CRT costs.

The centenary of the First World War has brought about an increase in access to incredibly compelling primary sources relating to the conflict. Join expert researchers and educators from Melbourne Museum, State Library Victoria and the Shrine of Remembrance for a unique professional learning day that explores how you can help your students make the most of these rich resources.

Participants will work collaboratively to develop research questions, undertake an authentic research task supported by experts, and create shared resources capturing the experience of the day. The day will include a focus on Digital Storytelling and documentary film making skills.

This professional learning day is designed as a practical and intensive research experience for educators. It is ideal for educators teaching the First World War depth study, or for those conducting any type of historical inquiry in the classroom.
