The Conference program has something for everyone with a diverse offering of academic, practical sessions, symposiums and workshops. ACHPER aims to support the professional engagement of educators in primary, secondary and tertiary, with sessions in Health and Physical Education (HPE), various approaches in sport pedagogy and by presenting sessions to strengthen the development of health and well-being in all.
Led by six world renowned speakers, national and international presenters will deliver this exciting program through a thematic approach based on the five propositions of the Australian Curriculum for HPE:

The conference will be held at the University of Canberra in Canberra.

Located in the Bruce Precinct, which includes the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), the University of Canberra carries out research within several academic areas including sport, exercise and education providing teacher training. The University of Canberra, Research Institute for Sport and Exercise (UCRISE) was established to provide research and innovation from a range of academic disciplines centering around one theme, sport. The Boat House by the Lake is the go to venue for waterfront functions in Canberra. Located only minutes from the CBD, this venue provides stunning water views, an award winning kitchen and is the ideal start to ACHPER's 2017 International Conference.
This social function will provide delegates with the opportunity to pre-register for the conference, as well as mingle with keynotes and presenters.

Welcome Happy Hour
5:00pm - 7.30pm | The Well Bar, University of Canberra
The Well Bar is UC’s newest campus bar which was built by students and alumni and was designed to provide a cinematic cool and edgy vibe. This venue is a great place to network and share practises learnt on day one of the conference.

The National Gallery of Australia is home to the largest art museum in Australia and holds more than 166,000 works of art ranging from Australia (including Indigenous art), Asia and Europe. Located in the heart of Canberra, it will provide a perfect backdrop to this Gala event. Ticket price includes:

The conference will be mapped to the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) through the Australian Professional Teaching Standards (APTS). Processes are also in place to ensure imminent alignment to local state and territory accreditation (ACHPER is TQI accredited).
