Find out if a career teaching overseas is right for you from Nick Kendell, an experienced teacher who has lived the dream. Get your questions answered first hand, from Nick who worked abroad as a new teacher, a head of school, and now a recruiter.

Why come to a seminar and interview?

  • Nick outlines the qualities successful international teachers possess, such as strong personal skills, as well as teaching experience.
  • Review your current CV with Nick who will assess it from the perspective of a recruiter and help you to present it in the best format for international schools.
  • Nick will also share tips about interviewing over Skype and at job fairs.
  • Learn what opportunities exist for experienced teachers overseas.
  • Discover what the schools abroad really want and need you to do.

Take the mystery out of the process of applying for international schools. In 2002, there were around one million international school students. ISC Research predicts that the number of students in international schools will reach six million in another ten years and that the number of international schools will increase from 6,000 today to 10,000. All schools registered with Search Associates have been through an accreditation process and have been thoroughly assessed for suitability.

Search Associates helps you find the school that is the right ‘fit’ for you.

Should my non-teaching spouse attend?
Yes, we advise that all couples listen to Nick’s presentation together.

The seminar is about 2 hours long. Interviews are 15 mins.

What happens if I need to cancel?
No problem, but please tell us as soon as possible so that we can give your place to someone else. We also need to book the venue, so accurate numbers are very much appreciated. Just contact us at nkendell@searchassociates.com

What should I wear?
Please wear ‘neat casual’.

Should I bring my CV?
Yes, please bring along a copy of your current resume to the interview, it does not matter what this looks like as part of the interview will be to go through how to create a cv suitable for international schools.

Do I need to attend a seminar and interview in order to be eligible to start an application?
While it is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended as this gives you a chance to meet Nick in person and have him learn more about you, which helps him when it comes to recommending people for positions.
