Wangi Wangi Public School is a thriving and growing K-6 school with an enrollment of 125 students, located within the area of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. Currently Wangi Wangi Public School has 19% of students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. The school has close connections with the local Itji-Marru AECG, who strongly support our Aboriginal students and whole school initiatives.


Students at Wangi Wangi Public School enjoy a safe, caring and productive school environment where a future focused philosophy underpins all current programs. Our staff are highly dedicated professionals who go above and beyond to provide outstanding educational opportunities for all students.


The school has a passionate, supportive and committed school P&C who have high expectations for student learning and are actively involved within the school.


Wangi Wangi Public School  focusses on growing individual student achievement across all grades through strong formative assessment practices, collective efficacy in teaching practice and reflective and proactive professional learning programs.


Successful programs supporting student learning and wellbeing in 2019, which will continue in 2020 have included; Seven Steps to writing success, Number Talks, Focus on Reading – Super Six Reading Comprehension strategies and the FISH Philosophy. Wangi Wangi Public School is a proud partner of the Western Shores Learning Alliance (WSLA) made up of schools feeding into Morisset High School.
